Too Good To Go’s mission is to reduce food waste by giving a second life to unsold foods. On one hand, it allows food establishments to sell food that is in great condition to be eaten but was not sold on that day. On the other hand, it gives the end-user the opportunity to eat tasty and conscious meals at a lower cost than what they would normally pay at the establishment. The best for both worlds!

Emerging after a simple experience in a buffet in 2016 by the founder Mette Lykke, the App Too Good to Go is now present in over 13 countries and with over 30,000 partners. Since its launch in Denmark, Too Good To Go has saved over 23 million meals.

But how does the process work?
Restaurants, hotels or supermarkets create a Magic Box with the leftover food.

As the name suggests, it is a surprise box, so the food you will receive, as well as the amount, always depends on the excess food that the establishment generated on that day. Still, the customer can get an idea of ​​what they will receive depending on the type of establishment they have selected.

As for the picking schedules, you can buy in the app at any time, and select the number of Magic Boxes you want, but you can only collect during the time chosen by the establishment.

In Portugal, the prices of the Magic Boxes range from 2€ to 5€, but it is estimated that you receive 3 times the value in food.
