Thanks to several celebrities’ interviews we were able to discover some sleeping habits of successful celebrities like their bedtime and wake-up routines.
Nowadays there are several studies that prove the importance of a good nigh of sleep and its a fact that hard work should be complemented with a good sleep routine, along with healthy eating habits and exercise. However, its very difficult to maintain a good sleep routine during a crazy and overloaded schedule and thats why so many celebrities suffer from sleep disorders like insomnia.
According to Unfold Today most successful celebrities sleep 7 hours per night, and only 18% of the top 100 highest-paid celebrities in the world claimed they sleep 6 hours or less. However 93% of the most successful sports celebrities sleep between 8 and 10 hours every night (this study include LeBron James and Rafael Nadal).
The same study conclude that male celebrities sleep more hours than female celebrities as 46% of the most successful male celebrities sleep between 8 to 9 hours every night. The male celebrities who belong to the minority who can live up to just 3 hours of sleep per night are Sean Combs, Dwayne Johnson, and Gordon Ramsay.
With different results 50% of female celebrities on Forbes’ Celebrity 100 list sleep between 3 and 7 hours every night, including Rihanna, Katy Perry, and Taylor Swift. The women’s list that sleep between 7 and 10 hours per night include Kim Kardashian and Ellen DeGeneres.
This study reveal that there is no magic formula that fits every successful celebrity, but take care of our sleep routine is important to an healthy life and a productive day.

Oprah Winfrey’s sleep habits
Oprah Winfrey gets 8 hours of sleep every night. She go to bed around 10 pm and wake up at 6 am. Every night Winfrey write on her gratitude book and in the morning instead of start the day checking her phone she clean her face, take care of the dogs and exercise. An interest habit of Oprah is that she never set the alarm, she wakes up naturally and thanks to be alive. This unusual routine was inspired by an advice of her sleep doctor Dr Michael Breus.
Elon Musk’s sleep Habits
Elon Musk sleep 6 hours per night and go to bed around 1 am. Musk discovered the perfect amount of sleep for a productive day over the years, and according to a interview he give that without this amount of sleep he feels grumpy and although with less sleep he has more available hours to work he would get less done because his mental acuity would be affected. Through twitter we also discover that Musk avoid eating anything three hours prior to sleeping.
Jennifer Lopez’s sleep Habits
Jennifer Lopez suffers for a long time from insomnia, and she only sleep 3 to 5 hours per night but nowadays she has a healthy sleep routine with a 10 hours of beauty sleep. During the period she sleep less than 5 hours per night Jennifer Lopez had a breakdown and her body just failed. As she feared to became insane due to her exhaustion she went to a doctor that prescribed at least 7hours of sleep every night.
Rihanna’s sleep Habits
Rihanna is one of the successful celebrities with less than 5 hours of sleep. In fact, Rihanna reveal that have difficulty falling asleep due to her racing mind. Even when she arrives early at home she can’t go straight to bed and watch shows or documentaries.
Jeff Bezos and Bill Gates’s sleep Habits
Bill Gates sleep around 7 hours per night as he became aware of the importance of sleep in health. With a similar sleep routine Jeff Bezos sleep around 8 hours every night, he said that this is the amount hours needed to feel energized and excited.
Cristiano Ronaldos’ sleep Habits
Cristiano is one of the most successful football players worldwide and so he has a very disciplined and strict routine. Ronaldo is aware of the importance of sleep in his physical performance and therefore follows an unusual sleep routine suggested by sleep specialist Nick Littlehales. This sleep routine consists of sleeping 5 naps of 90 minutes each day, instead of the usual 8 hours straight. During these naps Ronaldo sleeps in the fetal position and always on fresh sheets.
Lebron James’ sleep Habits
Differently from Ronaldo, Lebron James follows some more typical sleeping habits. Lebron sleeps averages 12 hours per day. He wakes up at 5am after getting at least 8-9 hours of sleep, and will nap throughout the day. Despite the 8 hours of sleep Lebron also believe in power naps and so he always take a nap during the day special in game days. He says that sleep is the best way to recover.
We can now conclude that there is no perfect sleep formula to became successful but sleep is a big part of an healthy life and without doubt that sleep will influence your days, your energy and your career.
